I think this has been happening for a while like in the last 20 builds.
It doesn't happen all the time but it happens infrequently like once every other week.
I installed Build 111 last night because I saw a fix related to Strategy Monitor. I hoped it would fix this issue, but unfortunately, it happened again this morning.
The issue happened either way, when I restored Workspace from the Workspaces menu and selected a workspace, or when I restored Workspace from the /W command line option.
When the issue happened, I observed two different problems.
1. Strategy Monitor opens but it's empty and all strategy is gone. Reopening the workspace from the Workspaces menu doesn't fix the problem until I restart WLP.
2. Chart windows open and they are all restored but the first chart window isn't positioned correctly as the workspace was saved. Reopening the workspace from the Workspaces menu fixes the problem. It's like if the first chart window opens at the default position but it is not moved to the saved position.
These two problems may be unrelated but these two are the problems I am observing for months at least.
Unfortunately, so far I haven't found a definite way to reproduce the problem consistently.

First thing, it's easy to back up WealthLab settings files so that you don't lose configurations. At a minimum, you should have a copy of the files in the WealthLab8 User Data folder and subfolders: Strategies, Workspaces, and Indicators.
The problem we're going to have is finding a smoking gun. I've never seen this happen (and I doubt Glitch has either). We need more information about your environment and workflow.
Since I don't use the "Set Data Folder Location.." feature, that could be a place to start, especially if you've set that to a network drive. Are more than one instances of WealthLab pointing to this common data folder?

I'm not losing any data and configuration.
It's just the Strategy Monitor behaving as if it failed to read the configuration or something... If I restart WLP, the problem goes away.
I start WLP with /W option to open a workspace.
I don't use it either.
No, there is only one WLP instance.

The chart window issue appears more consistent to me.
I have four chart windows tiled and saved as a workspace (Workspace C). Because there are four chart windows, it doesn't matter tiled horizontally or vertically.
I have another workspace (Workspace S) which has just a Strategy Monitor window maximized.
The WLP main window is also maximized.
When I switch these two workspaces back and forth between Workspace C and Workspace S, when I open Workspace C, the upper-left chart window isn't positioned as tiled.

Are you still using WLPro? What is WLP?
I want to break your habit of dead naming WealthLab! WL or WL8 works ;)
Do us a favor. Create Workspaces S and C using Sample Strategies and send those Workspace files to info@wealth-lab.com.

I meant WL8.

I just emailed those workspace files.
I can reproduce the chart window issue consistently using the following steps.
1. Start WL8.
2. Open Workspace C. => All four charts are tiled correctly.
3. Open Workspace S.
4. Open Workspace C again. => Upper-left chart isn't tiled. The other three charts are tiled correctly.
5. Repeat step 3 and 4.

3. Open Workspace S.

But I cannot reproduce the strategy monitor issue at will.
I start WL8 just like this from a bat file.
"C:\Program Files\Quantacula, LLC\WealthLab 8\WealthLab8.exe" /W "Workspace S"
I tried 30 times straight but I cannot reproduce the problem.
I run the bat file every market day after the market closed (at around 16:30 EST).

I confirm, I had the same problem. Workspace sometimes opens, sometimes not. So I just moved the necessary strategies to folders and manually open each strategy.
I had an issue of losing workspace today but not sure whether it’s the same reason. I installed traderstation extension today and enabled a simulation account. The my WL hung up for almost every operation I did. I restarted WL and still had the same issue. So I tried to remove traderstation extension by closing WL and move the traderstation DLL out from WL directory. After that I restarted WL and it did not bring up my saved default workspace where I have active strategies in SM, order manger and account window. Instead it opened the plain home window. Is the workspace configuration saved anywhere so I could reload?
Hi fred99998,
So you start WL8 and the baseline workspace opens, then you open your workspace "Stocks Strategy Monitor" but nothing happens?
I'm not sure if my workspace issues are related to yours but the workspace itself opens fine for me, however, the workspace is not restored correctly.
In any case, it appears not just me having issues with the workspace.

Hi rainfield8,
Windows Explorer will open [WealthLab8] folder and you will find your workspaces in [Workspaces] subfolder.
QUOTE:On WL8, navigate the menu, [File] => [Open Wealth-Lab User Data Folder].

Seems the default one is not there. I saved a few other workspaces with names, they are there. But the one I used most I usually just save as default and it's not in the directory..
Is the default workspace saved at a different location?
QUOTE:It is "DefaultWorkspace.txt" saved in the [WealthLab8] folder.

Nope, I searched the whole D:\ local drive (that's where I installed WL, and the user data folder) and there's no name match this. And I was able to create it by saving the default workspace again.. so somehow my previous default setting file got lost.... I'll sync the whole data folder to Dropbox so I could get back things if this happens again.
QUOTE:That's why you cannot find your previous default setting because the file is gone for some reason.

In my case, the default workspace file is there all the time but it is not restored correctly. So your problem is different than mine.
To kazuna:
It is marked with a check mark because I have already clicked on it. Initially, when loading the program, there is no check mark.
When click on on workspace "Stocks Strategy Monitor", the saved workspace opens. There is Strategy Monitor saved there, but it appears either empty, without strategies, or with strategies, as luck would have it :)
But that was a long time ago. I haven't used the saved workspace for several months. Now I tried to open it - the strategy monitor was empty.
