This just started this AM... My strategy throws signals OK, and then will even place the orders in Account 1 for example, but the Profit% and Profit columns remain as zeros, without changing, even when I click the "Request Updates" button.
I can even close the orders out, and will show my new buying power in the Dummy Broker section. But, I dont know what my status is on any given order till it closes.
BTW, I can trade the same strategy to my active cash account (TOS) without a problem.
Coincidentally, WL7 streams just fine while WL8 does not.

So your chosen streaming provider has trouble streaming? What is it and have you restarted WL?
I am using ThinkorSwim (TOS). I spend the better part of the AM working with their techs to see if they can explain why this is now happening. They reviewed my account and my use of the API, and contend that the cause of the problem is not their system.
Interesting that I can backtest using TOS data successfully, and can operate the "Historical Data Loading Testbed" successfully, but when called upon to stream to activated strategies, the log window shows "No Updates for XX Symbols" repeatedly.
This error message occurs in Log Viewer:
"Error Getting History (SYM): One or more errors occured. (The SSL Connection could not be established, see inner exception.)"

Lately, TDA streaming does not work in the morning, but later in the afternoon it magically does. It's been very consistent this way for the past several weeks.
I'm seeing this now...

But I can practically guarantee that it will start working later today.

The streaming profit works for me on the right side, but incomprehensible numbers appeared on the left side and have not changed for an hour and a half.
Click Request Updates from Broker(s).
That's right, it's changed :)
I thought it should be streaming too

@fred9999, if you open a chart of the instrument (MU etc.) is it streaming (Yahoo I guess)?
Yes, Yahoo streaming works, price changes
WL7 streams flawlessly on all my computers.
Why would WL7 stream without a problem (on all my computers), and WL8 (on all of my computers) does not?
Note: I do click "Request Updates from Broker" but to no avail.
TDA is in the process of integrating with Schwab right now, so .. things are in flux. There are no Techs that I can speak with personally about this. One has to email api@TDameritrade.com for a response.

So, if Think or Swim will stream to the same strategies in WL7 and NOT in WL8, is it fair to deduce that the streaming problem is with WL8?
Is your WL8 TD extension up to date build-wise? We recently changed the web socket component that we use so it’s important to keep that extension current.
Yes, current for TDAmeritrade on all computers.
Also, Received a letter from them today wherein the API Department there says they are experiencing no reports from other platforms or TDA clients having the issues which I am reporting.

QUOTE:Think or Swim has nothing to do with the connection we use. But I think you're just saying that for some reason you're only seeing a problem with TDA Streaming in WL8, but not WL7. It seems unlikely to be the case (the Extension code base is nearly identical), but I've noticed lately that TDA Streaming doesn't work in the mornings, but starts working later in the afternoon. I'll give WL7 a try tomorrow. If there's a difference, we'll find it!
if Think or Swim will stream
I was just able to do the test. You were right. It works in WL7 and not [consistently] in WL8. We'll figure it out. Thanks for the clue!
Thanks, Cone. Surely I'm not the only person experiencing this streaming problem with TDA.
I've been frantically testing alternative streaming options to permit me to continue my auto trade activities, but so far, the TDA option works best for me because I trade from that account, and process 200-400 orders per session.

Until we figure it out, TDA works great with polling in the Strategy Monitor - it's even better (faster) than Streaming Bars - at least for several dozen symbols. TDA Streaming Bars comes with about a 6 second end of bar delay whereas the polling comes back within about 2 seconds.
Polling not working either.
I'm going to migrate back down to WL7 until this is solved. Thx

Strange, TD streaming in WL8 is still extremely stable at my end.
WL8 does not run a strategy on my end.
It also will not update pricing.
I reported this last week.
I'm just a user, so II have no possible explanation for this.
WL7 Does fine, even with the most complicated strat and the largest Datasets
Perhaps if I reinstalled the program, that might help? But I'm not sure how to do that.

Don't worry, I'm with you. I just need to get Glitch's attention and we'll work on it. No need to comment further.
Alright, we've found the intermittency (it worked sometimes for me) and fixed it. Look for Build 13 later - probably this week.
Thanks Cone! We will celebrate the resolution of this problem.
Just updated WL8 to ver 34, but the above correction does not appear to have been included, right?
It's a fix in the TDA Provider Build 13. Select and Update Select Items from Tools > Home Page > Version Info.
fyi, we removed the TDA Extension page since new users are not able to onboard with the TDA API.

Can you get TDA to stream to you on a symbol on the Test Data Bed after the updata?
I cannot, on any of my laptops. Perhaps that's because the market is closed, since I DO receive a data load on the Historical Data Loading Test Bed.

Please try streaming while the market is open.
