Hmm will have to research this, on my end the rendering is identical ...

The two comparisons in Reply# 1 are not identical. The one on the right (for WL8) has less contrast causing the whites to come out slightly greyer. So both WL users are having a contrasting problem with the background.

That's because the contrast setting of your monitor is set differently than mine or the original poster's. But the whites are greyer in the WL8 imagines than the WL7 images. Perhaps if you turn your monitor contrast down you can see it better. The whites are not the same.

The foreground color is slightly different, that’s all.

there are other minor changes. for example lack of windows responsiveness if you right click on the controls on top right corner of WL8's window.
could this suggest some issue in the way WL8 displays?

Which controls are you referring to in the top right corner? And do you really mean *right* click, like for a context menu?

top right corner has windows close, maximize and minimize controls. whilst there may be little need for us to use right-click on these controls, the lack of responsiveness may suggest some issue with Windows

another Windows detail is the larger font (WL8 app name) across the top of the window (compared to standard font size in all other apps, including WL7 in above picture)

these examples may all be coincidental to the first post on differences in rendering between WL7 and WL8 but suggest there may be something in WL8 that makes us lose in clarity of display at least on my screen and other's comments in this post

The differences you point out are because WL8 is using a completely new windowing system and theming. The only thing I don’t understand about what you’re saying is the unresponsiveness. Everything else you pointed out is as designed.

What exactly are you finding unresponsive?

Responsiveness of top-right corner controls may then well be a result of the new used windows environment.. Not a big deal - here is some more, since you asked for it.

Windows (11) controls when right-clicking minimize or maximize (top right corner) appear to be inactive under WL8. Below pic shows Window arrangement options when right-clicking over WL7's top right corner - or even just hovering over the corner. Not the case in WL8
