Hi there,
The rather new feature of defining specific Broker/Account thresholds is a great idea. There seems to be a bug though: if I'm defining the "number of entry orders filled exeeds" threshold my other buy orders (from other strategies / IB sub-accounts) get counted too. E.g. for market entry strategy A in sub-account A I have one buy order. In market entry strategy B in sub-account B I have two buy orders. For my Dip Limit strategy C I have defined a specific "number of Entry Orders filled exeeds 7" (according to the position sizing of the strategy C) for sub-account C in the preferences. After market open the buy orders of A and B are anyways counted for the defined specific thresholds of strategy C - so the strategy stops is only buying 4 signals (since 3 signals of A and B are counted as well).
Best, Damian

I had thought there were problems with it too only to find that it was my error. The U.I. can be a little tricky, but just make sure that you're looking at the account's setting and not the default.

All accounts start with the default setting, but you need to click the radio button to inspect the account's setting. Let us know if you still think there's a problem (and post the image like this one).

Hi Cone, thanks for your quick reply. Yes I was aware of the radio button and specified the settings in the correct account. I have neither set thresholds for the default nor any of the other (sub) accounts. Today again, two of my other buy orders from market opening strategies counted into the "number of entries filled" counter under the specific account - so all still looks to me like a bug.
Here's the help for Number of Entry Orders Filled. It's currently global in nature, so this isn't a bug. But it might be better to change the design to make it account-specific? We can think about it.
Thanks Glitch, thanks Cone for pointing me in the right direction. I will try to find another setup that works well for trading two dip limit buyer strategies in parallel - maybe with the "open positions" or "cash below" thresholds it's somehow possible - I've tried it in the beginning but it was interfering with the held positions in the portfolio i.e. the strategy did not start buying at market open since the positions in the account first has to be sold at market opening so I had to "restart" the send to quote process. Any best practice ideas highly appreciated
One idea: if I exclude all my other (sub) accounts from trading thresholds - via the account window - will they be excluded from the "number of entries filled" counter? That would at least solve the issue for trading one dip limit buyer strategy (however not for a second one I guess)
QUOTE:No. The exclusion is only for the application of the Threshold. The "entry counter" is currently on the account level... and we're back to what Glitch said in Post #3 - separate counters would be required for each account.
will they be excluded from the "number of entries filled" counter?
I made this a Feature Request.
