After having used WL8 for a few days, I've noticed another issue: Strategy window jumps around
- When you switch from, say, Code Editor tab to Chart tab the Drawing toolbar becomes unhidden (if the option is checked under View) and the strategy window is pushed to the left by the toolbar's width; click on any other tab and the window gets restored to the position it was opened at
- Simultaneously, when one switches to the Chart tab the Container Window scrollbars also get displayed (if the option is checked under Window) even when the strategy window is well away from the edges and they also push the strategy window to the left and up; one has to click on any other tab for the original position to be restored
This was not an issue in WL7 where the strategy window was firmly anchored and didn't get pushed around.
(I suppose a user could just disable the Drawing toolbar & Container Window scrollbars but that's really not a good choice as they do serve a useful function.)

Along similar lines...
- When one opens multiple strategies the last ones will eventually open all the way to the right edge and of course when one clicks on the Chart tab the Drawing toolbar + scrollbar end up overlapping the chart; perhaps an area close to the right edge equal to the width of the Drawing toolbar can be demarcated as an excluded area for opening a new strategy window?

These issues are perhaps cosmetic but they're definitely distracting. Hope they get fixed.

If you're not using the drawing toolbar, you can solve that part of it by disabling it from the View menu. Maybe the child window positions can be stabilized in the future when that toolbar pops up.

The issue shouldn't be happening in the first place. WL7 didn't have it.

Currently, the button 'Show Drawing Toolbar', when checked, enables the hiding/unhiding of the toolbar (and permanent hiding of the toolbar when unchecked). This is somewhat confusing given its name. Perhaps it could be repurposed (and re-labeled explicitly) as 'Always Show Drawing Toolbar' which is implied anyway.

And the scrollbars shouldn't be popping up when the edges of the workspace are not encroached upon.

Like in WL7, that toolbar only shows up when it can be used.

WL8 windowing was written from scratch to support themes. Sure, improvements can be made. We heard you.

Just tested Dion's upcoming fix in B8 and found that Strategy window jumps around no more.

Cool!
Hope someday there'll be an option to always dock the Drawing Toolbar so one can set -&-forget.... will also help in arranging windows in a Workspace.

The change makes the the toolbar always visible, but just disables it until a chart has focus. This was the only way to prevent the jumping around effect. If someone wants to hide the drawing toolbar they can still do it from the View menu.
