1. setting up IB now.
WL says: Allow connections from localhost only - to connect to TWS running on a different virtual machine or network uncheck this and enter the Trusted IP. For example, if you're using the Mac version of TWS, open your Mac's Network app and enter the IP for the wireless/cabled connection here, e.g., 192.168.1.10.
It is checked in config, but since I have only one PC for IB, should be able to leave checked?
2. There is no mention in WL instructions on Data Provider Spec Settings for bottom thing, Final Order Delay, it has 30 secs, is that time to reconsider and kill a trade?
So far too easy, it knew my acct #s etc.
So then went to go live, and in Order Manager the Connected button is grayed out.
I have restarted IB. Still grayed out?
I restarted again with IB unchecked on that box first, no diff.
Buy the way, the 3 steps to autotrade on IB video, it is already setup and the Connect button is lit up. If you can take that same video and insert how to setup IB to connect first, that would be great.
Edit, Hmmm now the connect button is on. ?? I connected. IB mesg me it was connected, will follow rest of video now.

Well after following all the steps in 3 steps video after connecting, that connect button was grayed out again.

I rebooted WL, and the connect button was lit, clicked it and it acted like was connecting to IB, then button went gray again. I had not done data manager streaming selection agian. Is there an order that needs to be done in?

Hi Darp, does the Order Manager greyed out button have the text "Connected"? If so this just indicates that it's already connected.
OK from watching the video, when it connects it goes gray and says connected, I have been getting connected. Videos are 100 times more effective that text files on things like this.
In video on dip buyer it had a 100 list as step to sending orders, I do not have that. How do you start autotrading after you are connected? I am doing entries on EMA going up. Just 3 stocks in list, for testing purposes.

Detected the graying out and "connected" from it. If you can insert a 4th part between 2 and 3 showing screens as you set up IB that would be good. The text instructions did work pretty good for IB, for Alpaca it was hard.
Then for strategies that do not use a list like dip buyer, how do you get it started trading? Maybe it was actually working but as in last 15 mins of day no signals were fired.

No not at all.
There are 3 ways.
1. You can drop a strategy into a streaming chart, configure the broker, account, position size, and then turn on the AutoPlace from the streaming chart toolbar.
2. You could use the Strategy Monitor, configure everything, Activate and turn on AutoPlace.
3. For dip buyers you could send the orders to a Quotes window, configure it, turn on streaming there, and AutoPlace.
There are 3 ways.

So since SPY still trading I can run it on it? I just took of filter Pre/post data
In strategy monitor I put strat, with SPY selected, it seems ready to turn on. See auto stage and auto place. So if I click Stage one I can see order first?
I decided to turn it off, not sure if it was working right after hours.

If you're going to trade after hours, you have to Enable Pre/Post Market Trading in the Trading Preferences
