I have noticed that symbols are missing in the DAX and MDAX datasets. This is probably because the companies in question have recently changed their name and/or symbol.

The companies in question are Deutsche Post AG (DAX) and Redcare Pharmacy NV (MDAX).

Deutsche Post AG changed its ticker symbol from DPW.DE to DHL.DE on 1 July 2023. The DAX data set still contains the symbol DPW.DE (https://www.dpdhl.com/en/investors/announcements/ad-hoc-announcements/ad-hoc-dpdhl-20230619.html). No data is provided for either the old or the new symbol.

Redcare Pharmacy NV (formerly Shop Apotheke Europe) changed their symbol from SAE.DE to RDC.DE on 13 June 2023 (https://ir.redcare-pharmacy.com/en/news/welcome-redcare-pharmacy-official-ticker-symbol-change-on-the-frankfurt-stock-exchange-and-the-new-corporate/f758fb9d-1cc8-4e30-b701-17987a994ee5). The share has been included in the MDAX since 19 June 2023. No data is provided by W-D for either symbol.

Other data providers do supply price data for the new symbols. However, it would be important to me that the symbols are also included in the WD data sets.

Best,
Matthias

We have been tracking Deutsche Börse Group's announcements and applying all the scheduled and unscheduled changes to Wealth-Data precisely in time. These notifications do NOT contain information about symbol changes. Apparently because we need to track symbol changes in the press releases specifically. Thanks for the information, we'll adjust to it later.

Hi Matthias,
thank you for pointing it out. IT is difficult to stay on top of changes if the exchanges themself do not stay on top of it and announce it.
Vince you are mean on German data (just like me), do you have some older symbols and the data associated?

Thanks.

Not exactly true, both DPW.DE and SAE.DE continue to get updated every day in Wealth-Data's DataSets. Incidentally, key financial websites in Germany continue to recognize DHL Group as Deutsche Post (while some did adjust). We'll just rename the tickers and update the metadata. Thanks again for the heads-up.

UPDATE:

1. The updated index composition of DHL.DE & RDC.DE is reflected in W-D, restart WL8 to apply.
2. Since the data hasn't actually been "missing" I've renamed the topic title.

Hi Eugene,

For me, the two icons in the datasets were grayed out and didn't seem to get any more data. Anyway, it's working again now. Thanks for the quick response.

Re DHL, according to the press release the legal name of the parent company is still "Deutsche Post AG", in corporate communications they use "DHL Group" as the name for the group as a whole. Some websites still seem to use the parent company name others the group name.

Hi VK,

for historical data on German stocks and all other types of securities I usually use ARIVA.DE. They also have data for stocks that are no longer traded. If you know the ISIN or WKN, you can try the following URL (here using Demag Cranes as an example):

https://www.ariva.de/DE000DCAG010/kurse/historische-kurse?go=1&boerse_id=6&month=&clean_split=1

For XETRA prices, use "boerse_id=6". There you can download the historical price data as CSV file.

You can also use the search bar. It is best to search for the name of the company. If the stock is no longer traded, you will get the result of the full text search. With a bit of luck you will find a link to the overview page of the stock, in the example above this is "Demag Cranes Aktie (DCAG01): Aktienkurs, Chart, Nachrichten ...".

Hi Matthias,
Appreciate that you're trying to help. BTW, we've developed parsers to obtain the historical data of delisted German stocks from a number of websites. It's quite an effort to find such remnants here and there because German financial websites may or may not recognize some ISINs or company names, or the symbols and their historical presence in indices are lost in time etc.
