Any ideas why the code won't compile under Public Strategies? Is it possibly because of the AdvancedSmoothers extension I use here?

Yes.

There is only a (very) limited set of features form extensions available for published strategies.

You might file a #FeatureRequest to enlarge this set and thus make published strategies more interesting...

It would be even more interesting if users subscribe to WL8 and purchase 'Advanced Smoothers' instead of using it this way for free. So I'd say 'no' to such requests.

Alternatively, you can check with registered members whether they have a subscription for all extension(s) needed. Especially for Premium Members, they should be able to benefit from such features. This would possibly also motivate other members to switch to Premium...

That shouldn't be too difficult, right?

Since this is a PUBLIC strategy wouldn't it be pretty confusing if it could only be executed by someone who purchased the referenced assembly?

It seems reasonable to me that a customer who has access to an indicator extension can use it in their public strategy and that those strategies could be run by anyone on the website - similar to the finantic.Indicators. You wouldn't be able to run it on your WealthLab desktop without a license.

Glitch needs to weigh in.

I have nothing against the idea but it's not on the short-term road map and not a trivial thing to add to the web site. We're going to keep things as they are in this regard for a while at least.

Hi Dion,

That's certainly nothing urgent but I see an added value on both sides, in being able to mark Public Strategies for Premium Members only (without limitations).

This will inevitably lead to people without Premium Membership making an upgrade, as there is always a greater curiosity with prefabricated strategies than with extensions, where inexperienced people do not really know, how to deal with it.
