Can you say that the speed of processing of either WL7 or WL8, all else being equal, is most affected negatively by .any one variable. In other words, is somehow a cashe file built over time during the day, due to either order processing, backtesting, optimizing, ranking, et al??

The more Event Providers you have enabled, the slower the data collection process will be. Also, the longer data histories you load, the longer slower the collection.

Event Providers attempting to update new events tend to be the cause of most of the slowness in backtesting and charting. Selected events are often invalid for the symbol under test, e.g., fundamental data for ETFs or non-stock symbols, but Event Providers may still attempt to update anyway.

@Glitch, I know it’s not the “WL7/8 way”, but instead of always trying to update event data, what if this task were relegated (by default, but optional) to Data Manager updates only? Except for news providers, most (all?) numerical events tend to be daily at a minimum, occurring after hours.
