I have a MetaStrategy in my default workspace, along with other strategies. with "Auto-run strategies when workspace open".

For only my MetaStrategy I want to do automated trading with Finantic Publisher so that my buy/sell signals are sent to my email (I have Finantic Publisher working already to do this manually).

So I open my workspace, need to run only my MetaStrategy, select all, and place order on a daily basis at 7am. I don't want the other strategies to place a trade.

How can I do this.

As an alternative, I went to Strategy monitor and clicked on a strategy for Auto-Place and received the message, "Connect to the Broker in the Order Manager before turning on Auto-Place".

In Finantic Publisher, connect but is grayed out.

Thank you,

Larry

MetaStrategy isn't required, it's just a collection of existing strategies. You can use Strategy Monitor or Strategy charts for automated trading.

Eugene,

It seems that I can't use Auto Place with a strategy without order manager having a connection, but this is grayed out:

It's greyed out because the Finantic Publisher "Broker" provider doesn't think it's completely configured. DrKoch any ideas here?

Maybe DrKoch can help. An account needs to be identified.

This is a shout out to Dr. Koch....

Dr. Koch,

Could you please help out on this. Glitch and Cone think you may be able to solve this myster.

I can successfully create a strategy. Then manually select all and then click on place an order to route the order to the Order Manager and it will automatically sends correctly the signals to my email.

However, I want the Strategy to automatically place the order with out me having to use my mouse to click on place order.

I am enclosing my print screen, which shows that the Account field and connected fields are grayed out in the order manager, so that I can not automate the process.

Here is the screen attachment:

Thank you,

Larry

Hasn't DrKoch already answered this question to you?

Do not see where to enter Account
There is no account required for finantic.Publisher. After all it simply generates files and emails which contain orders.

@Eugene, I think we need an answer still because these tools use finantic.Publisher as a broker and without an account (even if it's just a dummy/pass-through) this won't work.

It could be that I don't understand how it works (and probably should evaluate it), but if it's a broker, it needs an account when you select it to be used for signaling.

This means, you already pushed the "Connect" button in Order Manager, finantic.Publisher is connected, you should see such a message in Order Manager:

finantic.Publisher is designed to send daily orders as files, by email or FTP.

If you run an End-Of-Day strategy it will send its signals to Order Manager which in turn sends it to finantic.Publisher which in turn will send you an email.

finantic.Publisher is not compatible with Strategy Monitor. If it was it would send emails every 5 Minutes - not very practical.

If you want such a behavior please file a #FeatureRequest.

I think for intraday trading it is much better to use a broker adapter which sends orders directly to your broker.

See Help->Workspaces for a method to automate daily signal/order generation.

I do work on an enhanced version of finantic.Publisher which will be compatible with Strategy Monitor.

This will be available soon.

I have tried to use the Auto-Run strategies when workspaces is open.
This does not send the Signals from the Strategy window, without manual intervention.

Anyway, just looking to get signals sent to my email daily, without having me to manually do this. The idea is WealthLab would be open for several days and signals would be sent to my email without my daily intervention. How can I do this?

Thank you,

Larry

Answer to both: a Streaming chart window with your Strategy dropped in.

I have opened up a chart. Placed a strategy in it. I heard the Alert Alarm and here is the Chart. However, it looks like no buy/sell signal was sent to the Order Manager. I have the Order Manager showing no orders written.

Here is the order manager screen. Please notice the Message Log window. It says "Use the green Connect button to connect to a Broker. You may need to configure it first. FinanticPublisher broker: Welcome to Financtic Publisher. However, not orders were sent.

Also, I exited out of WealthLab with saving the Workspace of the Streaming Chart. When I went back into WealthLab, I heard the Alert from the Streaming Chart window. So it seems that the Streaming Chart signal is not sending to Order Manager.

Afterwards, I did a manual Run, from Strategy Window, that I clicked on Alert, select all, and place order. You can see the order manager was updated with the Buy/Sell signal sent to the Order Manager.

Thank you,
Larry

Hi Larry,

You'll need to turn on Streaming in the chart in order to generate signals. Click the "Stream" button after selecting an appropriate streaming provider.

Once the chart is streaming, you'll see Auto-Stage and Auto-Place buttons appear. You can enable one of these options to automatically send/place the signals to the Order Manager.

Glitch,
It worked!!!!
Wow, awesome.

My strategies use Yahoo Finance daily signals.

So if I leave my Wealthlab open, then tomorrow, I should automatically get this to run?

Thank you,

Larry

Traders,

Update: Everything works great.

I use Windows Task Scheduler to run a WealthLab update daily, which triggers my Streaming Chart window to send my Buy/Sell Signals to my email ID. Then, closes when done.

Thank you for all of your help.
