My strategies suddenly started providing wildly improper position sizing based on broker account value, and most of my WL Dummy accounts and positions disappeared. Today I upgraded to B62. Can these be related?

I can’t see how since those areas of the code base weren’t touched in this latest release.

Looks like all my SM strategies were deactivated. Don't know how all this can be related. Do you think I have to do a fresh install of WL?

No, doing a fresh install as a rule doesn't change anything, it just replaces the files with another copy of the same files.

I see now what the common denominator is. My trading and backtest preferences were all cleared. So, whatever happened appears to have reset a lot of settings. Is it possible the update could have done that?

Anything's possible, but it's improbable since it only seems to have happened to you.

It's more probable is that you moved the WL Data folder, renamed it, or reassigned it to a different location from the File menu.

WL Dummy accounts were reset to 1, 2, and 3 (from the 8 I had) and new ones lost their nicknames. Values were set to 100, 200 and 500 K, which I believe are the default values.

I certainly follow your logic. That's weird if you are not getting other reports.

No, I definitely did not move any folders or go to the file menu. It looks like a global reset of preferences / settings took place (see above). I didn't notice if this happened immediately after the update and didn't see these problems until I tried to run a couple of strategies later.

Are you using the same Windows User account as before?

Yes. I did nothing new except upgrade.

I'm out of the obvious ideas. If we get just one more report, then we'll have to dig in harder, but for now, there's nothing to go on. We need some forensic evidence.

How about this - check the "Date Modified" for IBContracts.txt in your user data folder. What is it?

I understand and concur.

That file wasn't a good one for the forensic investigation - it's likely to update each time you use IB.

How about the Extension folder dates?
Do they look like this (new data folder) or are the dates all scattered?

Okay, we can probably assume that Settings.txt got corrupted and re-initialized. While I haven't seen it happen for Settings.txt, it happens rarely with other settings files, like for IndicatorSetsV2.txt.

Now my activations in SM are lost on every startup, even though I have saved as Default Workspace with them activated.

And there are no uncommon errors appearing in the Log Viewer?

Your Settings.txt file sounds like it is still out of whack. Rename or delete it and restore from a backup. If you don't have backups, then you'll need to go through all your Preferences and setups again.

As a reminder of how to automatically activate SM please re-read this topic:

@Glitch
Yes, I needed a reminder of that setting, which was changed. Working now. Thanks.
