Hello. I just signed up for WL8 on Thursday and am still in the 14-day trail window. I wanted to import my own market data/quotes(for 2 symbols), which is provided free thru Tradestaion, whom I have a brokerage account with. I converted the data from TS to .txt file type. When I go to import the data in WL8 and I click ASCII as the data provider and .txt as the file type, then I click on the 3 dots ... to bring up my list of folders on my computer, for some reason I don't see the .txt files listed anywhere. I have them saved under a folder labelled "TRADING" but when I open the TRADING folder in this data window the .txt files(with the market quotes) are not there. It's like they just disappared! But when I go back to my desktop & open the TRADING folder the .txt files are indeed still there. Can anybody help me with this?? I've been playing around with it the past few days & cannot figure this out. Thank you.

Hello,
They should not be listed there. It's enough to select the directory and have the File Extension read "txt" for TXT files (or other applicable extension).

I took the 2 .txt files out of that folder and put them on my destop & I still cannot get the data to be imported. When I click on the 3 dots ... I cannot find the .txt file anywhere even though it is right on my desktop.
Forget about the files, just choose the folder and click OK.
now i got another error: String E/2909 not recognized as a Valid DateTime. date is in mm/dd/yyyy format time is in hh:mm:ss format and I chose those formats in the dropdown box in WL8.
Is there a phone# I can call to tech or customer support to get this resolved? I dont want to spend a lot of time just on importing data. I'd rather spend it backtesting, etc.
If I can't get the data even imported then I can't buy your product.

You can write to support@wealth-lab.com and schedule a Zoom support call. But if you just attach one of the files it might be quicker because we can take a screen shot of the correct format and send it back to you.

This is incorrect. "mm" stands for minutes and the date format should be MM/dd/yyyy (assuming it's not M/d/yyyy but I haven't seen your file). The time format may also be HH:mm:ss so double check that too before moving further.
i finally got it. TY. if i run into another problem, I'll ask here on the forum, but i finally got the 5-minute data to import. TY everyone!
Here's how the data looks like in my .txt file for the 5-minute bars.
You specified a "pdf" file extension, and the error is pointing to a line that starts with the "/E 2909 ". A pdf file format won't work. It needs to be ASCII text that you can read in a plain text editor.
Later you said you have a ".txt" file. Maybe just change the File Extension selection from pdf to txt. The rest looks correct, although you're showing only 1 Header line, not 8.

I finally got the data to import(5-minute bars). TY everyone! If I run into another problem or question I'll out it here on the forum.
Ok. I have another question. When I look at the chart of the backtest entries/exits, you'll see the first bar starts at 9:40am. Shouldn't it start at 9:35am since I'm doing 5-minute bars? Thanks again.

Yes it should. You must have clicked "Adjust bar timestamps..." on the last page of the ASCII wizard when setting up the data, right? In your case it should be inactive because Wealth-Lab assumes ASCII data to be timestamped end of bar.
