I have been using W-L Developer 6.9.24 with a strategy consisting of 5 generic Indicators and a made up indicator. This is all I am interested in. This has cost $US 299.95 for the last 2 years.
I have downloaded W-L 7. Any suggestions on what I should do next especially as I may decide to change some of the generic Indicators but not the made up indicator.

Did you download WL7 or WL8?
I previously downloaded W-L 7 but have not used it. Did not know there was a W-L 8.
Would W-L 8 automatically pick up the strategy I use in 6.9.4. I believe there is a problem in transferring made up indicators (Eugene helped write one years ago).
Presume 6.9.4 will eventually close and therefore have to use W-L 8?

We don't have a plan for WL6 sunset but it may happen eventually as the migration goes at a very good pace.

As a long time customer will I have to pay extra for W-L 8 in addition for presently paying $US 299.95/yr for W-L 6.
Presently you're paying $150/yr for the WL6 maintenance. You maintain access to WL6 (while it lasts) on an annual WL8 plan.

25.2.22 charged $US 299.95, paid then refunded and paid correct $US 150.
26.2 23 charged and paid $US 299.95. Clerical were addament.
I am happy to continue with 12 mth Maintenance for foreseeable future. Ian

Whatever the intent was, you've been a paid WL8 subscriber now (and a WL6 customer by virtue of). We would appreciate if you explore the multiple improvements of the new platform. (For starters, what if you let Genetic Evolver create strategies for you?)

Hi Eugene. Philosophying - there must be thousands of strategies each saying they will give a good share return via when to buy and sell. You can then backtest to find and verify different parameters to give a better return. If you like 4 strategies then can you back test all 4 as an entity?
I am perfectly happy with WL-6 but since accounts charged me for WL-8 then I might as well use it. Since I doubt if I will ever learn C#, what can WL-8 offer me in peace of mind and a better return (without programming)? Ian

1 - If you like 4 strategies, you can backtest them as an entity called MetaStrategy.
2 - WL8 can offer you almost anything without programming. Building Blocks on steroids (e.g. combine indicators on-the-fly with Transformer indicators), genetically evolve strategies to discover unseen trading rules, Rotation strategies by pushing a button, ...
