Hi friends,

I was trying to run a backtest using the Alpha data of 60 and 15 mins in SPY, but I saw in the chart (after running the backtest), that they provided only data from January 2024, even if had chosen to run the backtest for the last 2 years.

Do you know if there is a way to get 60min and 15min data of SPY from Alpha or other Data provider for 2 or more years back for free in the platform?

Thanks in advance.
Fernando.

You can get about 6 years of intraday from Tiingo, part of the Data Extensions Extension.

Tiingo intraday is based on IEX data, so the OHLC data isn't going to be precise, but probably good enough to work with to develop strategies.

Which broker are you using?
For example, IB will give you data back to about 2004 - it just takes a while to download it all.

Hi Cone,

I will try Tiingo then.
I don´t have IB account, I´m using Tradestation at the moment.

Thanks a lot.

Doesn't Tradestation have a way to download data to ASCII file?

In any case, we're looking over an agreement to use the TS API, so hopefully that will be in place soon so that you can access TS data directly from WL.
