Here's what I want to avoid because no one want to see this noise in a chart -
Proposed Solution
For chart display only, I propose to use 1 event icon for 1 date from 1 source and put all the single line summaries into 1 big popup that doesn't bother you when viewing the chart, unless you hover over it.
For multiple same-date events, the number of events can be added to the icon - like the number of notifications on your iPhone. It should be a lot smaller than what's shown below. Alternatively, simple a "+" could be used instead of a specific number to indicate multiple events.

Rename
Since it's the news that bring clutter in the first place, in Fundamental B11 we will declutter our news provider SeekingAlpha. We will introduce a new event type, "News (brief)". To reduce the multiple items to just one per day you would select it in the list of items to plot in the Data Manager > Event providers. Here's how it will work:
But why does that one bar still have two?
Because on 01/30/22 SeekingAlpha still had news for MSFT despite market holiday. They get appended to next Monday's bar for 01/31. Since the two items have unique dates they shouldn't be merged together.
