I was running WL7-40 with Data Extensions 21. All worked fine. I update to WL7-43 and purchased Data Extension and downloaded version 25. The only way I found to correct he hanging was to uninstall WL7 and delete the subdirectory in ProgramFiles. This allowed me to come back up and function properly. I then installed Data Extensions 25 and the hang problem resurfaced. I went through the same process again and installed DE-25 again and had the hang again. Any idea what the problem is?

How does the supposed hangup manifest itself?
Do you see the usual startup window, is it stuck at some stage?

It starts to display he normal start up displays, verifying license etc. It appears to be about ready to start and nothing happens. Task manager doesn't show it running any longer. Everything ran fine with WL-B40 and DE B21. I'm currently running WL B43 with out Data Extensions.

Did you ever use the FOMC Indicator from DataExtensions?
By chance you have it in the default workspace?

As a first troubleshooting step you could try (with WL7 closed) to temporarily move the user data folder (c:\Users\%Windows username%\AppData\Roaming\WealthLab7) somewhere and start WL7 from scratch. If it works the issue has to do with some configuration or data file related to the extension.

I have the same issue right after I updated to B43 today. An error did pop up but only lasted less than a second and couldn't read or cut and paste it on time. Is there a folder location where this message might be found so I can send it to you?

@harlet3000
Have you updated all extensions?

I first updated from B40 to B43. I then installed Data Extension B25. B43 was working when before I installed DE B25. After installing Data extension, WL seemed to be coming up and displaying the messages I usually see but then there was no further display. I was waiting for the WL window which never appeared. Task manager didn't show it running either.
I uninstalled WL. I deleted the WL director in program files, I renamed WealthLab7 in \appdata\roaming. I then installed WL B43. It worked. I then installed Data extension B25 and the hang happened again. After that I uninstalled and deleted the WL program directory and the appdata and reinstalled WL B43. I want to use the Data extension but don't know what to do next. I essentially did a clean install and it didn't work

Thanks for making the clean install test. At the moment I'm at a loss because my production setup of B43 + DE B25 just works day to day, survining restarts. Let's wait for B44 and DataExtensions B26 then and see if there's an improvement.

what about that stock screener issue? one last thing to try would be to open your wl7 data folder, close wl7, and rename your settings.txt file, then restart.

Topic starter has renamed WealthLab7 in \appdata\roaming. :/

If possible check the windows event viewer because it could have logged the crash reason.

I updated all the extensions (since I didn't know which one was causing the issue) per Eugene's advice and this time the application completed the startup and now working. Thank you.

Updated to Build 45 and Data Extensions build 27. Everything works fine now.
