Hello, I have seen the MACD WL7 Indicator is the equivalent to MACDex WL6 Community Indicator.
Can you incluide in WL7 the MACD classical indicator ( equivalent to MACD WL6 Indicator)??
Thank you very much.

There's positively no need in MACDEx now because MACD in WL7 is configurable. By accepting the two periods as parameters, it serves the same purpose that MACDEx served.

Consequently, MACDEx with default parameters in WL7 is equivalent to the WL6 MACD.

Thanks, Eugene, then I´m doing something wrong, can you help me??
As you can see in both pictures:
^GSPC (S&P500 Yahoo) Daily, yesterday.

WL 7:
MACD (12,26) = 36,74

WL6:
MACDEx (12,26) = 36,7366 (== MACD WL7)
MACD (12,26) = 34,81

You're right, MACDEx matches WL7's MACD as both approximate MACD.

But WL6's "classical" MACD calculation is based on a somewhat different formula having 2 EMAs with exponents 0.075 for the 26-period EMA and 0.15 for the 12-period EMA.

This is not an error, just two different formulas producing slightly different values while retaining the shape. Do you believe the classical MACD has any importance or benefit?

Hmm, you know this is going to come up over and over. Eugene, what do you think about creating an overloaded indicator for the classic version?

CODE:
public static MACD Series(TimeSeries source)

I doubt it would work because the periods are optional parameters. At least without a breaking change where with the default parameters the user would get a "classic" MACD and an approximate one for other parameter combinations?
