There three joined the index on Dec 23, 2024. I noticed the three companies that were replaced were not part of the DataSet Since Dec 20. However, the three new members are still not in the dataset yet.

This is also the case for Dow 30. NVDA is not in there but INTL is. The The replacement happened on Nov 7 2024.

INTC should be there but you miss how the dynamic DataSets work in WL8. All the symbols that ever entered the DataSet remain there but are included and excluded from the backtest automatically on their in/out dates. Check this out:

@Eugene

From the following test strategy you can see INTC is still included in the test on Dec 27. Sorry for the huge image size, not sure how to adjust it here. Also NVDA is not there.

If you're not seeing the changes to the N100, you may not have restarted WealthLab for over a week.

I wasn't aware of a change to the Dow 30 this year. It's updated now. Restart WealthLab to get the change.
Thanks for the info!

Effective prior to the open of trading on Friday, November 8, 2024 NVIDIA Corp (NASDNVDA) replaced Intel Corp (NASD:INTC), and The Sherwin-Williams Co.(NYSE:SHW) replaced Dow Inc (NYSE:DOW).

Thanks @Cone. Yes I did not restart it for a while.

So to get the updated components of any index that changed, it has to:
1. the data needs to be updated on the WL side
2. WL software needs to be updated.
is this correct?

I'm curious how WL maintains index components? is that manual?

1. the data needs to be updated on the WL side
Of course. The data served has to be updated, and yes, inputting index changes is manual. Wealth-Data follows only the N100, SP100, SP500, D30, and the German DAX and MDAX. (German data aren't being updated consistently at the moment, but we'll get them fixed by next week.)

For many more indices, use Norgate Data (index changes could be delayed several days even for Norgate).

2. WL software needs to be updated.
No, only a WL restart is required get the new index data. It's a good idea to restart once daily.
