Where-is-the-ASCII-Saved-Format-configuration-kept

Check under the WL8 FIle menu, View WL8 User Data Folder.

There is a folder there called DataSets.
It contains xml files referring to created DataSets
They do not contain DataSet format specs
The config files are not there
These are the files that are optionally created during DataSet creation

I’m not sure what config files you’re talking about. Those xml files are the DataSet files.

In the image below, lower right hand corner "Save this format" button allows you to create a file containing the format info. My question is where these files are stored. It may be that they are not actual disk files but the scheme here has the look and feel of files. In case they are actual files they can be moved from one PC to another.

I am realizing that I assumed these were files. But the button and related text box do not say this at all. It is OK if they are not actual files. The amount of info is not much anyway. Still an answer one way or another would be nice.

It always happens when a queston is vaguely formulated and lacks details. Topic starter's been talking about the "ASCII Saved Format" feature but omitted the key details which should have been in his very first post. This is not the same as "DataSet config files". Let's rename the topic then.🤦‍♂️
