After just several months of using WL and interacting in this forum now I am a fan, so I would like to bring an idea based on my own experience for WL website.

As I am new to algorithmic trading it was pretty hard the learning process leading to my first "robust" strategy I just published on Wealthsignals. This forum was a valuable tool but mainly to solve specific issues. The videos in Youtube appear to me just a good demo of some WL capabilities, but what is really useful and necessary for thousands of newbies interested in algorithmic trading, just like me is some comprehensive educational videos in order to learn the concepts beyond the software and its capabilities, of course this will be demonstrated in the process. There are concepts like "statistical significance" in order to avoid overfitting rules, that are not explicite even if you find your way through design and backtest of trading strategies but are key to success. This is just an example and was the reason why my strategies where very profitable during the backests but not in the real life. It was when I found a good educational series from a UK-based trader in Youtube, that I realized it, leading to a real productive change, even to I was perfectly capable of using all tools available (but I didn't have the principles and concepts behind them).

Said so I think that instead or in addition to the demo videos in the Youtube channel it would be great to the many newbies like me, to create educational videos focused on concepts and accompanying the new costumers in their evolution as traders. Just one video per week could lead to this and it could be a demo, a tutorial and a valuable tool for new trader's progress.

"My post is longer than the Dead Sea Scrolls" :D :D :D Sorry about that. It's just an idea, and my way to say thank you to WL team and all my fellows in this forum.

It took me about three years with Wealth-Lab before I could completely wrap my head around the problem. And that was just to understand all the issues, and not to master a solution.

And it wasn't until the fourth year before I understood the significance of the slope of the Equity Curve, which is something WL doesn't characterize very well with a third-order polynomial fit.

What I would suggest is a webpage with recommended books discussing Technical Analysis for stock trading. Some websites have a book list, but Wealth-Lab doesn't, and it should. And a book list for learning C# would be useful for the newbie as well. And if this reference book page is a wiki page, I can add a few references to that list as well as a book review.

We're going to plan out this idea, WealthLab University. We'll start with 3 classes, Strategy Design, Building Blocks, and Strategy Coding, with about 8 videos per "class". We can then offer more "classes" once we see how these are received.

And this is then the 3rd thing announced this week that I am looking forward:
- NorgateData extension;
- Market screener;
- WL University.

And this on top of the new web version of Strategies.
Not bad for a small team!

I love the idea, please focus con concepts such as statistics, overfitting, indicators, etc. the very basic foundations of any strategy. I will be very happy!!
