It begins to but stops at auxiliary set up and then disappears. I tried this over and over and the same thing happens. This occurred after it got stuck yesterday in the opening process at some point (I do not remember where) and I restarted the computer. Help appreciated.

It occurs to me that all this occurred right after downloading and installing the newest version of WL8. M

I keep trying it. Now and again it will stop on something different. Establishing quick ref last 2 or 3 efforts was the stop .

Maybe you didn't update the required extensions?

Solution 1: Visit each Extension page that you have installed and update them.

Solution 2: Go back to the previous build by uninistalling WealthLab and installing the previous version (if you have the install file).

In the future, it's best if you update from the WL Home Page, by right clicking the Version info to upgrade all installed extensions (and also the WealthLab Client). Then you just have to acknowledge all the upgrades as they occur.

I would try running the installation again.

I don't understand what you mean by extensions and exactly what I should do.

If you use IQFeed, then you have the IQFeed extension installed. Go to its page, download the installer and install the latest version.

You can find all the Extensions on the Extensions page (main menu above).

Well the program gave me the option to delete wl8 or repair it. I chose to repair it, But I am having the same issue as before. So I guess I will delete the program and then reinstall and see what happens. M

Is IQFeed the only extension you use?

OK I uninstalled and then reinstalled the app. I opened it and it is still doing the same thing - hits auxiliary setup and goes away. What to do? This i very weird. Have other people had problems with this latest iteration of the app?/

Well more in this saga. I restarted the computer and then tried to open wl8. This time it went through items till it hit inititializing trade preference and then froze with that on the screen. This is what happened yesterday. I am going to force quit the program (I am on a mac that has that capacity) and try again and see what happens \.

Ah yes. I remember this now from yesterday. My mac tried to force quit it but could not so the window with initializing trade preferences popped back up on the screen where it is in unmovable form. Again am I the only person with this problem?

Restarted attempt again with WL8. This time it got stuck on copying files to data folder. Just sitting there on the screen.

Eugene has some ideas but needs a little time to work through them.

Can I get a previous version of WL8 and try this out prior to build 34 and see if this is the issue?

Sorry for the trouble, but yes, it's only you and it's not Build 34. Like Glitch said, Eugene is working on it. Patience for now.

Yes, from your local saved copy or from a backup.

Another small observation. It spends less than a second checking my license. Before this took some 3-5 seconds .

I need more time to investigate.

Try deleting Settings.txt (with WL8 expelled from memory):

c:\Users\%Windows username%\AppData\Roaming\WealthLab8\

Hmmm. Well I came back from an appointment and found WL8 opened!! So I guess will leave well enough alone until and unless this problem recurs and then will revisit this thread. Thanks as always for the help.

It quite possibly could have been an intermittent network issue.

It seems I am always having these types of basic problems. I click on the app and literally nothing happens. No error message. It just doesn't open or do anything.

I wonder will you be creating a new topic every time WL8 won't load? ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ Merged with this topic again.
