Hello,

am I blind or is there no article or help or anything like an article like "whats new in WL 9" or what has changed in WL 9 to WL 8? For example can I use scripts written for WL 9 use in WL 8? At the moment it seems like most data adapter don't work in WL9, so there is no way in using WL9 productive at the moment if you are in need of any of these adapters. But I would like to use the MCP server. So can I use the mcp server in WL9 to write scripts and indicators and use them then in WL8, are they are downwards compatible? What else changed? Do I have to read every help function in WL9 and compare it to WL8 if anything has changed? Or did nothing change in WL9 beside the MCP Server? If that why do the WL 8 data adapters do not work? Or is there a way to sync WL 8 and WL 9 continuesly? What do I have to watch out for if I use WL8 and WL9 side by side?

By the way, the help function for the MCP server is not a great help in my opinion. I was able to set it up with the help of ChatGPT (to chatgpt codex), but the help function is not a big help to explain how the MCP server functions and what you can do with the mcp server and how you can handle it. I had to let ChatGPT to explain me how I can use the MCP server and what I can do with it. But the MCP Server itself is a very big improvement from what I could test in the last few hours.

Here is a blog article:

https://www.wealth-lab.com/blog/whats-new-in-wealthlab-9

Also, we just sent out a Monthly Returns email to every WL user a few days ago outlining what's new, did you not get one? Curious, what data adapter that you used in WL8 is not available in WL9?

Tai Pan and Norgate. I know they are not adapter produced by WL. But the result for the user is the same, that he cant use them in WL 9. Another reason is, why I would like to use WL 8 and WL 9 in parallel: As I wrote in my post in WL 9 I don't know what and how much changed in WL 9. So I would like to test the production line before using it with real money. If I cant use them in parallel, I have to either stop trading my normal systems or cant use scripts that are developed in WL 9 in WL 8 (I dont know that, therefore my questions above what changed and if I can use WL 9 scripts and systems in WL 8. I coudn't find any documentation about that as I didn't find any documentation at all what changed and what not and what I have to watch out for?). I don't like to make experiments with a production system.

You can use them both in parallel, no worries. And you're right, we have to wait for TaiPan and Norgate to produce their WL9 versions. Hopefully it won't be too long. In the mean time you can still use WL8 and experiment with WL9 at the same time.
