zoom does not activate after I release the left mouse button—the rectangle simply disappears without zooming.

However, when I drag from the top-left corner to the bottom-right corner, the zoom always works as expected.
Note: To reproduce the issue, make sure to move the mouse cursor all the way to the top-right corner.

As designed. See the User Guide > Performance Visualizers > Equity Curve:

You can zoom into any area of the Equity Curve by dragging a box (upper left to lower right) around the area with your mouse. (...)
