Dear Wealth-Lab Friends,
I would like to thank the Creators again for making this great software. After having success with strategies at the day trading level, I am trying intraday trading. However, the Strategy Monitor does not load fast enough even for 30 minute bar trading, it takes about 15 to 30+ minutes to load the S&P 500 data and by then it should be time to grab new bars, and the situation has changed. I can tell that if I had executed the trade right at/after the 30 minute point the stock would have gone up more.
I have brokerage accounts with Interactive Brokers and Alpaca. I purchased data from IBKR and from IQFeed. I read most or all of the past postings where you all described how to use the data, including the helpful summary which goes over the different data providers. I tried a variety of different settings in the Data Manager. I tried streaming, polling, and streaming bars when adding the strategy to the Strategy Monitor. I unchecked all of the data sources except for one (like IQFeed or IBKR, and also tried it with both of those checked. I created custom data sets and copied over the symbols from the Wealth-Data S&P 500 to unique sets for IQFeed and IBKR. Even after it takes so long to update, it does it all over again for the next bar, so it's not like it only takes a long time once; it does it on every bar.
If you all have advice on best practices,s I would really appreciate it. I noticed some of you said it took less than a minute to load, so I assume this is operator error, and I need to change a setting or something somewhere. If you have some best practices to try, please let me know. Or, if you would like me to send more specific details about my setup, screenshots, etc., I can certainly do that.
Thank you very much for your help!

1. Don't load too much data.
If you use "Live Positions", you only need enough seed data to make your indicators valid. Make sure you read about using that Trade Preference in the User Guide. In any case, don't load too much data.
2. Use Streaming Bars.
The IQFeed basic subscription gives you 500 streaming symbols simultaneously.
Streaming Bars with IQFeed should give the best results and I recall testing the S&P 500 a while back completed in maybe 12 seconds?? I don't remember how many seconds exactly, but it was quite good.

Have you pruned the recipient DataSets from all the stocks that have been delisted and/or left the indices?
Okay thank you all so much, I was just backtesting and then trying to trade with all that data loaded, I didn't know it made a difference. I also made a new group with only the current S&P 500 symbols. I was able to get my laptop down to 10.5 minutes and my cloud computer down to 1.5 minutes, so that is much better. I will keep trying to see if I can get it to go faster.
Have a nice day!
