Currently, when the Run Now feature is used on an application in the Strategy Monitor, that application is "deactivated" (won't run automatically on set schedule). The Activation function must be manually re-enabled.

This behavior can lead to missing trade signals for strategies scheduled in the SM, if the user forgets to re-enable activation.

This feature request is to provide an option to turn off or modify "auto deactivation" following a Run Now action in the SM.

Further, deactivation occurs on all applications and is not restored when V7 is restarted, even if the SM is saved as a default workspace.

Build 38 adds a Workspace menu option to automatically reactivate Strategy Monitor Strategies when the Workspace is opened. I guess that solves the deactivation worry for you?

I dl'ed latest version and set new menu option but when I executed Run Now the strategy still deactivated. When I restarted V7 the activations re-appeared (you must save workspace *before* Run Now). Is that how you intended it to work? My original request was to not deactivate strategy after Run Now.

I am not using the Activate / scheduling feature of SM at this time because:
1. Once I Run Now, Activate will not schedule to run tomorrow but the following day. (Has something to do with the Hours after Close fix - I'm using 17 hours.)
2. After SM runs a strategy automatically based on schedule, it schedules it to run two days later.

This was discussed in detail here https://www.wealth-lab.com/Discussion/SM-sets-next-run-time-for-the-day-after-tomorrow-after-Run-Now-7155

Is fixing this on a feature or other list?

I think Eugene is conflating two issues. We’re leaning to not reactivating after run now, and declining this request. it’s easy enough to just reactivate a strategy manually after the run now is finished processing.

@Glitch Got it. Do you know if there is a plan to address the inability to schedule daily runs? I remember you had a few ideas on this but I'm not sure if it made it on to any list.

There's no inability to schedule daily runs. We did talk about making it more flexible so you could schedule them at the Strategy level, rather than relying on one scheduling preference.
