Hi, today, when backtesting 2 strategies, one of I started trading live a week ago, I got some very unusual results. Upon looking into my strategy settings I realised that "Wealth Lab" has changed the "Backtest Data Set" from "Russel 1000" and "Russel 2000" to pre installed "Crypto" Dataset. On top I cannot find either Data set in the dropdown menu of the "Select Backtest Data Set" on the "Strategy Settings" screen.

Any suggestions? Please kindly be specific as I'm untrained in getting extensions and so forth. My WL8 is updated, current version 64.
Thank you.

Hi,

What data provider did you use for these DataSets (built-in Yahoo, Norgate)? Or to put the question in a different way, are you seeing a group called "World Indices" under the DataSets tree on the left? If not, please restart WL8 and retry.

If it still fails to appear following restart, click on the eye icon in the DataSets view and unhide "World Indices" to make Russell 1000/2000 reappear.

Hi, thank you for replying.
I do see the group "World Indices" under the Data Sets tree to the left.

I do not use /own "Norgate" Data. So must have been from a pre installed source, ie Yahoo...
Hiding and unhiding "World Indices" did not work. Russel 1000/2000 still not appeared.

Screenshot in next post...

OK so it's neither the missing provider nor the hidden DataSetProvider group. It's a "corruption" of the DataSets XML file due to partial transmission i.e. a network glitch. It's cached for a week so let's reset it:

1. In WL8, choose "Open WL User Data folder" from the File menu.
2. Close WL8.
3. Delete the WorldDataSets folder in Explorer's open window.
4. Restart WL8.
