I've searched Help and Discussions for information about Q-Data. Since this historical data provider seems to be supplied by Quantacula, how does it compare to WealthData?

Also, as of this time, it has not updated for yesterday's market close. What is it normal approximate update time?

Thank you.

QData covers more symbols than W-D but QD doesn't support the survivoship free backtesting of W-D.

Originally (in April 2021), Q-Data came with "default" datasets. Now I don't see any default Q-Data datasets in Data Manager anymore. Does one have to create these datasets manually now? If so, what sort of datasets or stocks would be available?

I'm running WL Build 45.

No, it's not right. You're confusing QD (which didn't have preinstalled DataSets) with Wealth-Data which has them. If the W-D DataSets are missing on startup it's a temporary connection issue. I double checked that they are getting loaded correctly.

I got Wealth-Data datasets preinstalled, but I have zero Q-Data datasets. So why would anyone want to create Q-Data datasets over Wealth-Data datasets? Except for Wealth-Data carrying delisted instruments, would both sources be the same?

Are there Q-Data instruments that are not in Wealth-Data? Is there any advantage of using one source over the other?

QData covers the entire US stock market, WealthData only the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100.

So if Q-Data covers the whole stock market, then why have IQFeed? I'm trying to get the bigger picture here. Why use Q-Data over the other guys? What are its pros and cons?

IQFeed has intraday data, QData is daily only.

Is there any index data available from QData? If so, what syntax is used to get this index data?

I don't see any index data in the Wealth-Data datasets. I wish there was a source of free index data besides Yahoo EOD data.

Yes there is, the syntax is, for example, $COMP, $SPX, $NDX.

QData knows about $VIX. It doesn't seem to know about Fidelity mutual funds. If there's documentation somewhere about what QData knows about, please post the link. Cheers.
