I have found that Legacy Confidence Factor Calculation works better than the new one. But there's no way to turn it on for Genetic Evolver, only for manual selection.

I wouldn't be fooling around with Price Grids for 2-bar patterns. You'd do much better working with gene codes for 2, 3, and 4-bar Candlestick patterns. (This requires the Candlesticks Extension. Once installed, see Help > Extensions > Candlestick > Candle [Gene]Codes.)
For a significant price "grid" I think you'd have a hard time finding an example for which the legacy algo works better.
