Currently I have the same problem as described here:

This thread is more than two years old, so I'm not sure if the cause is the same, but I am having a similar experience. The Strategy Monitor places the order, but it stays in a 'placed' status without becoming active. However, if I manually remove the order and replace it, it becomes active immediately. I have already upgraded IB Gateway to the latest version and I'm running Wealth-Lab version 160.

I am also seeing another issue: at the end of the day, my Stop orders are not being canceled. While the Limit orders cancel immediately after the close, the Stop orders remain. I either have to cancel them manually or wait one to two hours before they finally clear.

It just sounds like WL didn't connect to IB. If "Placed" doesn't change to Active almost immediately, there's a problem with WL communicating with TWS/IBG.

It's important to restart WL after TWS/IBG restarts each day to refresh the connection. WL tries its best to reinitiate connections with TWS/IBG after restarts, but it's not guaranteed.

Best practice - start TWS and then WL each day before you start trading. Open the Accounts Tool to check your positions.

I just restarted it, but I can check the logs tomorrow. I remember seeing a message in the order manager saying that IB was not connected.

I’ve been running this strategy for weeks and never had any problems placing orders automatically without restarting anything during the week. I just had to cancel the stop order manually.

TWS/IBG shut downs or restarts everyday, depending on your settings. I highly recommend that you restart WealthLab after the TWS/IBG restart to refresh the connection.

The problem occured again today. I restarted WL yesterday after IBG restart.

Why yesterday? There's evidence of several disconnects overnight. This is typical, and I notice these restarts frequently after the U.S. markets close.

We'll do our best to work on this, but really, it's best to refresh the connections before the open. If you're trading the U.S. Market, schedule TWS/IBG to restart at 9am and then Wealth-Lab after that.
