Hi,

I wanted to test the newfix in build 55 with the advanced pos sizer but I receive an error.
Did you change the CalculatePositionSize prototype in the new build ? If so I think @DrKoch will have to adjust the finantic indicator.

Here is the following error :

Yes, it's a side effect of the bug fix you're aware of (posts #58-61 in https://www.wealth-lab.com/Discussion/Laurens-Bensdorp-s-Automated-Stock-Trading-Systems-9377) and you're right, @DrKoch should adjust to a change in CalculatePositionSize in B55.

Thx DrKoch,
Do we have an estimated time for the fix's release?

This situation also raises another question about managing similar issues in the future. Currently, I've duplicated my scripts and omitted the calls to the finantic indicator as a temporary workaround. However, I'm considering long-term solutions. For instance, is it feasible to revert to an earlier version of the wl8 software if similar issues arise again? Alternatively, can I set up two separate installations of the software on the same computer – one dedicated to live trading and the other for backtesting – to prevent such disruptions in my trading activities?

thx

It’s really not feasible because there might be file format changes that would break a previous version. DrKoch indicated (no pun intended) that the new build should be ready soon.

And what about 2 installations on the same computer on different path/drive ... Is it possible or would it be possible to allow it ?

I tried to redownload the executable and install it but I could not chose a new installation folder
Thx

It may be possible to install in a second Windows user account.

Here some security measure:
If you download new versions of WL (and extensions) with a browser (instead of the builtin updater) you'll find a history of installer files in your browser's download folder.

Whenever a new version of WL breaks something (which is not 100% avoidable with complex software) then you can always just re-install ("repair") the older version.

Also, if you do realtime trading I'd suggest to separate (keep isolated) your trade-PC from your development-pc.

Always install new things on the development-pc first. If these stand the test of time (say at least one day later) install the same versions on the production engine (a.k.a trading pc)

The new build of finantic.Indicators is already in the very last stage of the publishing process.
