Is it possible to set a date of the last build of extentions, to make it easier to see what extention needs to be installed and which is state of the art?

Since it was yours truly who had promoted this style (MS123 Extension yyyy.MM) for all WL6 extensions, I was a supporter of it too. However, there's no need in this anymore. Open Help > About in WL7 and there you will see a list of installed extensions with "Your" and "Latest" versions. If "your" version is out of date, such extension will be highlighted. That simple.
