I have read the support materials and searched the site but haven't been able to figure out if there is a way to disable the wait time before close for MOC orders. I would like MOC orders to be placed with broker (IB) immediately pre-market. The reason is that there is no reason to wait until pre-determined time, and it simply increases the risk that an order may not be placed because WL8 must be kept running until market close. Power outages are a real risk recently and I feel the need to check daily that MOC orders were indeed placed.

If I leave the "...seconds before..." preference blank, will it place MOC order immediately pre-market?

I agree with you. I can't think of a reason not to place a MOC order immediately if the broker supports that order and you've enabled it. I'll create an issue for this.

Hi @Cone. Do you have a guesstimate as to when this change may be released?

@innertrader: Cone and Glitch have been dedicating all their time and effort to satisfy requests, offer new features, fix issues and much more! I'm just saying.

We're tracking it internally (Place MOC Immediately if Supported and Enabled #1240) but for now it's marked as an enhancement which gets a lower priority.

Since brokers support MOC/LOC only for some instruments, it seems we'll have to key off of the Preferences for "Use MOC and Use LOC" instead of "supported by the broker" which isn't really known - that's handled at run time by each broker adapter when the order is placed.

Anyway, I still think that it fits with the design, which will be that if you have "Use MOC/LOC" enabled, WL won't "WaitForClose" and will place those orders immediately. If you want the WaitForClose-order-n-seconds-before-the-close behavior, you'd leave those options deselected.

.. let me see if I can make it happen.

Okay, I think we've got this in place for Build 24 (unless an incompatibility shows up)..

Below, I placed a LOC order with "Use LOC" enabled. It's immediately placed and Active at IB as a LOC order. Next, I place a MOC order with "Use MOC" disabled. This triggers the "WaitForClose" behavior.

This looks good. I'm anxious to try it!

Thanks.
