Would be nice to have an integrated debugger with features like breakpoints and watch window to help users not willing to master Visual Studio.
Dion, could Alternet Scripter be a minimally invasive enhancement for the Editor control or is it way more complex?

I don't know if my suggestion belong here but as part of the debugger it would be great to step through the Back Test one day at a time, so you can see the results and signals generated and ensure reproducibility. Also to be able to specify the order within the dataset (eg. alphabetically, Highest to lowest RSI, greatest to lowest ADX).
It does not sound minimally invasive.
QUOTE:
.NET Script debugger cannot debug its own process; debugging application-dependent scripts in the same application is only possible if these scripts are compiled in a separate executable and access application APIs indirectly (via .NET remoting).
QUOTE:I follow your point; not everyone has the Visual Studio IDE installed (or employs its great symbolic debugger).
... have an integrated debugger with features like breakpoints and watch window to help users not willing to master Visual Studio.
But it would be a big step forward to post detailed documentation on how to use the VS IDE and its symbolic debugger on the WL7 website much like the WL6 website has. Right now, new users just have scraps of information on how to do this from the forum.

It belongs elsewhere - here's feature request for visualizer that would do what you're asking for:
