Do I need to run all indicators on my strategy? Or can I make a preselection? If I test all indicators on my strategy, it will take forever.

There is not enough detailed information to explain the behavior you see.

From Post #1 I conclude that the ranking is working for some indictors but fails for others with a timeout message.

You could enlarge the timeout for rankings in Preferences.

It looks like you are working with a S&P500 DataSet. This probably requires a larger timeout.

Also, you could stop the ranking after some time, save the ranking results and then work from the saved results.

For further detailed analysis:
* How many symbols has your DataSet?
* What are the Intervals (Backtest, Test1, Test2, Validation)?
* If you stop ranking after say 60 minutes: How many indicators
succeeded and how many are missing from the results?
* What happens if you select one of the missing indicators and run "Rank selected" (see context menu)?

Please observe Tools->Log Viewer also.

Here you see Preferences->Indicator Selection->Settings->Ranking->Timeout/Ranking:

Depending on the number of cores of your PC you could also use a higher value for Parallelism/Ranking. Use at least two times the number of cores.
