My trading system suggested new investment opportunities according to my trading system, yesterday. But when looking at the "Positions" today, it states "Historical Data Pre-Emptively Ended" under the "Exit Signal"-column for these positions. What does this mean? Can you help, please?
Also Wealth Lab does not show data for two shares for yesterday (Nevro, TuSimple Hldgs), just for 26.1.2022 (latest available -> see charts).

Historical Data Pre-Emptively Ended means that the data series ended when more data were expected. It's usually seen for WealthData DataSets when you have a position in a delisted symbol that Wealth-Lab automatically closes at the end of the series.

For the instruments that didn't update,
1. What are the symbols?
2. What Data Providers do you have checked in Data Manager > Historical Data Providers?

Symbols that haven't been updated are TSP (TuSimple Hldgs.) and NVRO (Nevro). The charts of both symbols do not show the bar for yesterday (27.1.2022).

The symbols in the "Positions"-list with Exit Signal "Historical Data Pre-Emptively Ended" are TSP (TuSimple Hldgs.) and NVAX (Novavax).

As the 1/27/2022 data for NVAX, TSP and NVRO is available from say Yahoo, please answer Cone's question #2.

I checked WealthData, Q-Data, Interactive Brokers and QuoteMedia. Over the last weeks it worked well. The problem just appeared today.

Q-Data does not have the 1/27 bar for these stocks. You can check other sources like Yahoo (that is up to date), changing the order respectively. Morningstar is slow to update as far as I remember.

I've noticed this exit signal when a dataset is created as 'unlinked' (the default). Some data providers are later than others at updating the EOD data. When you have a dataset that has symbols which use different data providers, some will have the most recent date while others will not. Those that are missing the most recent date will get the 'Historical Data Pre-Emptively Ended' exit signal.

This has been common for me if I test soon after market close.

I am also getting this error: "Historical Data Pre-Emptively" on these symbols. This message is coming up daily. Even though the positions were closed out.

BBAR
FSLR
RIG
TGS

From Yahoo data.

Every day, I am getting an alert to close out these positions:

"What Data Providers do you have checked in Data Manager > Historical Data Providers? "

In this order: Yahoo Finance, WealthData, Cryptocompare, Q-Data.

Can you please let me know how I can fix this.

Thank you,
Larry

Hi Larry,

It indicates that the symbols in question are not updated.

Open a chart for one of the symbols and note the last date. Is it current? If not, what is the data provider that serviced this data? You can discover it from the status bar in the chart window.

BBAR, TGS etc. seem to be out-of-date in Wealth-Data (looking at the website chart, its history ends on Jan 27). Yahoo does have the data through March 20nd. So Larry, if you need these Argentinian stocks you might want to drag Yahoo on top of W-D on the Historical Providers tab to give Y! a priority. And we'll need to investigate their abrupt end of data in W-D.

For me, latest BBAR daily scale data was successfully updated from WealthData.

Just a guess... for each enabled Historical Data provider, go to Data Manager -> Historical Providers tab, right-click on the (enabled) data provider and pick 'Clear Internal Request Tracking Info'. Then try to fetch the data again.

"Open a chart for one of the symbols and note the last date. Is it current? If not, what is the data provider that serviced this data? You can discover it from the status bar in the chart window. "

Glitch,
I can see the chart is not being updated. Data Provider is Yahoo Finance. What is happening is that in the single strategy, It closed out this signal and exited on 3/17/23. This is what I like.

However, in the MetaStrategy, I just created holding this strategy for testing, what happens is that I keep getting a "daily signal" to sell those assets. Even though it is closed out in the Positions window on 3/17/23

I am looking to not see these signals daily, because position is already closed:

Here are Positions page. Notice that the they are closed here, but still getting the alert signals:

What I would like, is if there is data missing, then Wealthlab will exit position. On the Position page, looks good. Also, when in a single strategy. This is fine for me.

When I place this strategy in a MetaStrategy, seems that the Position gets closed in Positions, but is repeating the "Daily alert to exit" daily

Thank you,
Larrry

Try moving WealthData ABOVE Yahoo in the Data Manager so that WealthData will have a chance to deliver that symbol first.

Glitch, Eugene and Paul,

"Try moving WealthData ABOVE Yahoo in the Data Manager so that WealthData will have a chance to deliver that symbol first. "

That fixed it.

Much appreciated for your time.
