Hi,

I'm running a simple short-only test strategy in the Strategy Monitor and enabled the "Enforce Max Open Positions from Pos Size" feature. But even with no open live positions, the Order Manager rejects all entry signals. The message says:

"Transaction not placed because it would exceed the Strategy Monitor's enforced Maximum Open Position Position Size setting."

I'm wondering — did I mess up a setting somewhere, or could this be a bug?

For reference, I posted some screenshots in the first reply.

You specified 10 Max Open, any type (not Max Open Short).
Do you have 10 or more positions in the IB account?

The account is completely flat — no positions at all.

Also, just to clarify: I assumed that the "Enforce Max Open Positions from Pos Size" setting only applies within the context of the specific strategy in the Strategy Monitor. Is that not the case? This specific strategy is short-only.

Yes, I think you're right. The positions would count only if they matched open positions in your strategy by symbol and PositionType.

Well, I'm out of ideas. Glitch will figure it out :)

I found the flaw for this Strategy Monitor options (affected Max Open Positions Short only) and it's fixed for the next build.
