Hi

As per https://www.lp-software.de/partner/wealth-lab.aspx the Taipan Realtime is supported as data source for Wealthlab.

Today I tried the same with WealthLab 7 and did not found out, how. Could you please support me, these where my steps:

1) installed WealthLab 7 Build 45 (free Demo License)
2) Taipan RT 8.7.0.3 installed
3) Taipan RT started
4) Wealthlab started
5) result: => I dont see Taipan RT as Datenprovider in WealthLab

Next I asked the Lenz&Partner Support, the answer was: I need to ask you at Wealthlab support.

Please let me know if you can help out: how can I use / test Wealthlab using Taipan Realtime data?

Thanks in advance
Bernd

WL7 is a completely new product and we don’t have a TaiPan interface. See the “Extensions” page in the main menu above to learn about what kind of interfaces WL7 has.

Thank you for your fast response.

Hence i will ask Lenz & Partner / Taipan, if the WL6 interface was provided by them the data provider itself.

And if yes, if they could do the same favour now for WL7, or how else we / me / they plan to proceed.

With Best Regards
Ben

MS123 LLC (the team behind WL6) has never supported Taipan data. There was a data provider developed by a fellow community member which might have worked if its end user added some missing COM DLL.

There's no chance for WL7 to support any COM-based legacy technology. Has L+P overhauled their API to offer some sort of modern technology like REST or .NET API?

Keep us posted, Ben! For reference, here is a link to our Extensions API documentation:

Sure, I will do. I will next expose this thread to the data provider (Lenz & Partner Realtime) and chase for an answer which I'll share here.

Thank you for your contribution.

Cheers

I have got an answer from Lenz & Partner who are the owner of Taipan.

They have pointed to this web site:
http://www.tai-pan.net/produkte/tpr.net/csharp.aspx
... saying, that with this approach any .NET based platform like Welathlab 7 can integrate the Taipan data feed.

Now my questions is if this topic can be placed somehow at the Welathlab development on a todo list or how in such cases the integration happens?

For me, it is the first evaluation of Wealthlab and if the platform fits my needings. My hope is that Taipan can be somehow integrated.

Thanks, Cheers

Yes, it's possible. I tagged this topic as #FeatureRequest which means that once it raises on top of the list it can eventually get implemented. You can vote for it.

For now your link does not open for me but we can look into it later.

Hello Eugene

Thanks for that #FeatureRequest . Of course I directly voted for it :-)

Regarding the Link to the description how to implement, I have just now clicked on it and it works for me (using newest Firefox and tested as well on Chrome). Anyhow, here the link comes again, this time in Qutes, hope that separates it from the other text and help along:

Hi Ben,

Okay, I was able to load the website via proxy/VPN. Before we consider this there should be sufficient community following. And when/if this happens we may need a developer/demo subscription to the feed.

Hallo,
ich benutze die Kursdaten von Lenz + Partner seit 20 Jahren.
Werden diese von der aktuellen Version von WL eingelesen,
wie früher WL4?

Hello,

No, Taipan is not supported in WL8. You can vote for this feature request to improve the chances. (Click on the thumbs up icon of the title post.) When it raises to the top it may be considered.
