On the other hand we want to avoid the case where someone is surprised by opening the SM and have strategies activate that might then potentially place trades. For anything like this we like to err on the side of caution. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Then make it a user preference, or at least give the user the option to proceed with closing without deactivating, since the surprise can come from the other side too. Moreover, you can avoid accidental trading by controlling Auto-stage and Auto-Place.

When I set a strategy to be active, I really want it to be active not only for the session.

Of course, we will add this to the feature request list. We can bring up an explicit warning when someone activates that option.
