You should clarify in detail what you mean by 'same'.

If you want the get the streaming bar in a strategy (for reading the Bid and Ask prices), you need to drop that strategy into a Chart, then turn streaming on for that Chart. I "think" that's the only way to do it. If there's another way to get the streaming bar, please enlighten me.

Strategy Monitor doesn't do streaming at all. Only Charts do streaming bars and only if you turn streaming on for that Chart. Charts startup with streaming turned off.

QUOTE:

Incorrect. The Strategy Monitor has two streaming options.

"Streaming" is exactly the same as what you get in a chart - chart history is loaded and kept updated by the streaming/tick feed. A difference is context, and the question was probably motivated by why bid/ask works in a streaming chart, but not in the Strategy Monitor - https://www.wealth-lab.com/Discussion/How-to-access-the-current-bid-ask-8440

"Streaming Bars" is a better option for the feeds that support it (IQFeed, TDA, IB, Alpaca). IQFeed excluded (because it's a true tick-by-tick feed), Streaming Bars will be more precisely representative of the historic bars that you [eventually will] backtest with. That's because most broker streaming feeds use conflated data, i.e., you don't get every tick that can affect the OHLC/V of a bar.
