I have a weird problem. I'm developing my own strategy as a library using Visual Studio. I can run and debug the the strategy just fine the first time run it, starting it from VS which then automatically starts up WL8. However, once I close WL8, then run again from VS, I am unable to open my strategy or any of the other strategies from WL8 itself (so even the ones initially available in WL8, be it compiled or otherwise, will not open). All I see after double clicking a strategy is the hourglass cursor and then nothing happens.

This started after I upgraded to build 46 this weekend. As a temporary 'fix', If I uninstall WL8, then first install an older version (in my case B38 is latest older version I have on disk, so I used that), and then upgrade to B46 again, all works again the first time I run it from VS, but once WL8 is closed and started again from VS, I have the same problem again.

Once the problem sets in, then even if I open WL8 by itself, without VS, I cannot open any strategy. The only thing that helps to get it to open strategies again is to uninstall WL8, install an older build, then upgrade to latest B46, and it will run again for one go, and then it gets stuck again.

Any ideas? Also, is it possible to get a download link to build 44, so I can try and see if that works OK? I used B44 before going to B46, and did not see this problem, so I would like to try B44 and see if that does indeed work OK, to determine if this is B46 specific issue or not.

Thanks.

Is it possible that you're copying an older version of some dependency (required DLL) into the WL folder with your compiled strategy?

Well, maybe, hard to tell. I'll have to check. Which files should I be looking at, just the ones in the \Quantacula, LLC\WealthLab 8 folder?

And if it's a DLL issue, then why does it run the first time, and not the second time?

It's probably a side effect of saving settings for compiled strategies (or something else in Build 45).
Don't spend anymore time on it. We'll investigate.

Ok, thanks. Do have a download link for build 44, so I can continue with that version for now?

Thanks.

If you've kept the installer offline on your PC then you can reinstall B44.

I don't have the B44 installer as far as I can tell. I always upgrade through Wealth Lab itself, and do not see the B44 installer in my download folder. Is it located somewhere else?

I currently installed B42, and that does not have this problem, so definitely looks like a B46 (or B45) issue.

Clearly this seems to be a side effect of the oh so persistent bug:

* B46: Fix for compiled Strategies with parameters (B45).
* B45: Strategy settings will be restored for compiled strategies too.
