I was able to get my IBD configured. Still learning the new version 7.

Glad you were able to figure it out. The place to configure "provider suites" such as Alpaca or IBKR is the Data Manager. But you can also configure a broker upon adding a strategy to Strategy Monitor. I think this dialog raises because Alpaca is the first broker alphabetically but you can suppress it and choose your broker.

I'm having the same Alpaca issue. Since I don't have an a/c with them I hit cancel and then an Exception window pops up:


Tried multiple times, same result - even when different brokers checked as Streaming provider.
Unable to add even a single strategy to SM. How to resolve?

Update: Chose Dummy broker in Order Mgr and can now add strategies to SM.

But seriously, the Alpaca issue shouldn't even be happening if that is not your chosen streamer. Or if you're just running EOD scans for alerts.

Thank you both for reporting. We are aware of the issue. IMHO it would be a better user experience if WL7 could handle this case gracefully without popping up the Alpaca settings dialog or throwing an exception.

*Ideally, SM shouldn't have any popup box when you open it, it doesn't know if you're running EOD scans or trying to stream. It's only when you try to stream that such a box should popup - and it should pre-select the entity you have already selected, if any.

Separate Q: Is there a way to uninstall/inactivate/hide broker/data providers?

Just remove their dll file from the WL7 install folder under Program Files.

No more exception. There will be an indication in Build 10 to set up Alpaca if it's not configured.
