Receiving "Method not found. 'System.String WealthLab.Core.Tokenizer.Append.(Tokenizer.AppendTokenkey(System.Object)'." upon start of Particle Swarm optimizer.

Currently running WL7 version 50 & finantic Optimizers version 10.

Have processed multiple re-installs of finantic Optimizer. Have also reinstalled WL7. Problem still persists.

Have also verified problem does not exist on WL7 default optimizers.

Each finantic optimization run appears to optimize the first symbol in a dataset before terminating with the following error message: Receiving "Method not found. 'System.String WealthLab.Core.Tokenizer.Append.(Tokenizer.AppendTokenkey(System.Object)'."

I have verified that all versions of WL7 and all extensions are current. I've also verified this problem does not exist when using WL7 specific optimizers.

Thanks for your help.

Note: "finantic", not "fanantic" - editing your posts again to fix them.

There was a virus which slowed me down. Will take care of the problem asap.

I'm still experiencing the problem related to the finantic optimizer posting the error message "Method not Found" when using the "symbol by symbol" option.

The original bug report, dated March 17th, documents this problem as resolved; however, I continue to experience this issue.

The chained (2nd) bug report, dated March 25th, has a response dated March 26th that states the issue will be looked into shortly.

I'm not sure if this bug is considered open or resolved, but I thought I post this to better understand its status.

Thanks.

Instead of creating new topics dedicated to the same issue, it could be helpful if you simply bookmark this topic and post here if you have something to add to the bug report for @DrKoch. (It already was the 3rd topic I had to merge with this one.)

I just did a fresh install (non existing C:\Program Files\Quantacula, LLC\Wealth-Lab 7 directory) of Wealth-Lab 7 Build 53 and finantic.Optimizer Build 10.

I also cleaned up all Settings.
(Non existing C:\Users\gaston\AppData\Roaming\WealthLab7 directory)

I run an SMAC optimization of Sample Strategies/Gap Closer.

I did not see the Error you mentioned above.

@DougMetzger:
May I ask you to switch to a clean install with fresh settings on your side and see If the problem still exists with this scenario?

Thanks for taking a look at this. I made a few attempts as described below, but I'm still having problems.

I processed fresh installs of WL7 V53 and fin Opt V10 (I made no attempt to un-install before doing this).

I continue to post this error on Gap Closer when attempting a "System by System" SMAC optimization on the DOW 30. I do not get this error when using the a Standard optimization tab on the Dow 30 -- everything runs cleanly.

Can you help me better understand how to "switch to a clean install with fresh settings." Does this mean I should uninstall and re-install WL7 and fin Opt?

How do I go about re-installing fresh settings? I've looked at preferences and advanced setting under Strategy Settings. I'm not seeing any "reset" to default settings.

Thanks

Fresh install means to rename this folder (with WL7 closed): c:\Users\%Windows username%\AppData\Roaming\WealthLab7\

I did the rename. I'm still having same problem.

@DrKoch....can I get you to confirm that you used the "Symbol by Symbol" tab in your earlier test today as opposed to the Standard tab?

Just a couple of items to throw into the conversation:

1) I did end up un-installing WL7 and then a re-installing WL7 and fin Opt 10. After doing so, I was surprised the Optimization Method on the Optimization Settings tab defaulted to SMAC as opposed to Exhaustive -- as a result of doing the re-install.

2) @DrKoch made reference to (non existing C:\Program Files\Quantacula, LLC\Wealth-Lab 7 directory). No such directory exists on my computer under C:\Programs Files. The only Quantacula, LLC on C: resides as C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Quantacula, LLC -- which I renamed and had no impact on execution.

3) I'm an old Fidelity user with references to:
- .....username\AppData\Roaming\Fidelty Investments\WealthLabDev
- .....username\AppData\Roaming\Fidelity Investments\WealthLabPro
- .....username \AppData\Local\Fidelity Investments\WealthLabDev
- .....c:/ProgramFiles\MS123\WealthLab6

4) I installed WealthLab7 & 6 on new computer in 12/2021 under new username....

1) As a result of renaming the user data folder, not the re-install. Just clarifying.
2) There must be the folder "c:\Program Files\Quantacula, LLC\Wealth-Lab 7", as sure as fate.

You are correct. "c:\Program Files\Quantacula, LLC\Wealth-Lab 7" exists.
