I have a problem with the RSL indicator. This building block is part of one of my strategies:

The whole strategy works perfectly on my local computer, but not on my trading server. When I run the strategy on my server I get following error message:

I am not a programmer - does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

Thanks and best Regards
Matthias

Its as if the 5 and the EMA got flipped somehow on your trading server. Carefully compare your local and trading server blocks for that strategy. When I attempt to duplicate your block it comes out like this. Notice the order of the parameters:

Which WL build are you using? (The current build is 101)

I copied the whole WL folder from my local computer to the server. So the strategy and all settings should be exactly the same.

I am using build 101, eyerything updated.

Like in Post #1, I can't duplicate it - not creating the rule, not saving it with a Strategy, and not opening it from a Workspace. Export and send the strategy to support@wealth-lab.com. But to get running again, just delete and recreate the block - should work!

Thanks.
I deleted and recreated the building block but what now happened is that I get different values for this block on the server (e.g. for symbol KDP 0.96 on the server and -2.42 on the local computer).
I will send you the strategy.

Different values are due to different data. Start by checking the date of the last bar and the source Provider in the chart status bar.

Hi Cone,

below please two position windows from the computer (1) and the server (2) with symbol KDP as an example. All data and all indicators show exactly the same values - only the RSL indictor at the bottom is different:

The RSL curve looks exactly the same, only the values are different. So all in all I do not think the quote data is the problem.

OK, RSL curve does not look the same, looked at the wrong indicator

The parameter RSL parameter list is reversed between the instances, so they're not equivalent. We'll have to figure out how you're getting that result in Post #1.

I have no idea how you can ever get a result in the first image with RSL(MFI(5),EMA,5). It's invalid.

Did you send us the strategy? It hasn't made it to me yet.

Yes, I sent you the strategy 12 or 13 hours ago.

Thanks, got it now.
I can't tell how you made it happen, but here's what you're seeing when you configure the RSL in your strategy -

I just noticed that it might have something to do with configuring the optimization parameter. Anyway, here's what you should be seeing for RSL -

Sorry for the trouble, but you simply have to fix it by first momentarily selecting any other indicator than RSL. Then reselect RSL and configure it.
It should look like the second image.

>> I still couldn't force that to happen when configuring the optimization parameter. It's really a mystery, but if you figure out the steps lets us know!

Hi Cone, thanks.
I can confirm that the first picture is how it looks like on the local computer, the second picture is the server.
But even when I create a new strategy on the local computer and select the RSL indicator, I see the first picture, "smoother" is always above "period".

The originin of the building block that caused the trouble came from Finantic's indicator selection:

What I did was to translate the Eval building block into a "normal" IndonInd block, because the original Eval building block also did not work on the server. Maybe this can be a hint?

Absolutely!
Eval is a third party component that's messing it up somehow. If it's not required for this usage, don't use it here.
Send finantic a message about this post.

... although in Post #1 - Eval was not used. Still a mystery!
