1. create a new MetaStrategy
2. put one strategy inside
3. activate Margin Factor optimization variable
4. press Optimize

That doesn't happen for me. Which WL build are you using? What other MetaStrategy options are selected?
I can repro it with 100% probability. A fresh WL run -> create Meta -> add one strategy -> Set Margin optimizable -> press Optimize

It fails with "Value can't be null" if I add to Meta only one strategy - the simplest MySimpleTestLong that is always in long

Yeah, we will need to disable these for MetaStrategies. Being able to optimize those there isn’t something we can currently support.
