Why are iqfeed backtests/optimizations 10x slower than other data sets?

No, it's not slower than others. (Like question like answer 🤷‍♂️)

When you have a problem, please explain it clearly, with as many facts as you can think of, and possibly attach a screenshot to illustrate what you're seeing. Symbols? Bar scale? How many bars? Currently, nothing to work with.

The more details the better the chances to track the problem down and help you.

I'm a new IQFeed subscriber, not sure if I'm doing anything wrong here.
For instance, if I pick any "sample strategy" and run a 10 year backtest on a daily timeframe using WealthData, it takes...10 seconds?
Using IQFeed on futures instruments, it either crashes (especially on lower timeframes) or it just takes a long time...10+ minutes.

Usually, new subscribers don't have any problems with historical data, but you may need to contact IQFeed support to get realtime (vs. delayed) streaming data. There are forms you need to sign.

Also, for backtests with futures, you need to make sure Futures Mode is enabled in Preferences > Backtests, and you need to enter contract specifications in Tools > Markets & Symbols for IQFeed symbols.

Re: backtests
The first time you run a test, there will be a download delay, but IQFeed is quick to download history, even intraday.

Let's start with the Daily backtest. You said it's quick with Wealth-Data. How did you switch the Daily backtest so that it pulled from IQFeed, and, how did you verify it was using IQFeed? Attach images to clarify anything.
