My Dummy Broker Accounts -
I have a script passing the Broker AccountValue to a PosSizer and couldn't understand why it was always $100,000 until I looked at the account configuration. It doesn't seem to change (with trading) from the value you set it to. Also Cash and Buying Power always seem to be the same value with or without positions.
Anyway, we'll consider this post as a prompt to use a "real" broker's paper trading account if you want to track these values in a realistic way. Alpaca and IB (possibly others) offer free paper accounts that work very well, though with IB, you'll need a real account too.
Reserve the use of WL's paper accounts just to quickly verify signaling for Auto-Trading before moving a broker paper or live account.
