First off this is not an attack and wealth-lab is superior in a lot of aspects to other backtesting software, however, creating a custom indicator which usually takes me 30 minutes to an hour max in pinescript or ninjascript has taking me all day and I still can't get the custom indicator to work. Now granted some of this is due to this being a new platform for me and not having a full grasp of the classes & framework however here are just some of the issues.
Sometimes hitting compile doesn't do anything and there is no indication of any complication errors.
Old compilation errors do not clear once resolved.
no debugging unless you want to run in VS and spend a few minutes between code changes relaunching wealth-lab and testing one thing at a time.
Duplicating the same indicator when I save
Doing whatever this is
The editor is obviously not full fledged and increases development time to have to go to the c# references or the wealth-lab framework support which you have to scroll find anything since there is no search within the documentation online.
Part of the draw for me in these other platforms is the ability to work quickly and efficiently and I think wealth-lab falls really short in that sense.
Again I want to reiterate that I think wealth-lab as a whole is amazing and I have began using it and am more than happy with all the features and the support but improving the work flow around coded strategies & indicators would make it that much better.
