WL8
I had the following situation:
When starting a strategy that has been running for a few days without any problems, WL froze. It was also not possible to close the program via the Windows "Task Manager". I had to reset the PC.
Since then, my anti virus program recognizes the file "WealthLab.Core.dll" as a Trojan. I can only run WL if I turn off the anti virus program. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not help. WL7 still runs without problems on the same computer.

This is a false positive. Add it to the whitelist of your antivirus.
I cannot whitelist a dll file. Only executable (exe)
I also wonder why WL8 was frozen and why the problem occurred afterwards.

Because the antivirus might have quarantined the required DLL file so the program cannot continue. For your piece of mind, upload the file to Google VirusTotal to make sure it's a false positive by one or two mediocre AV out of the 70 or so supported:

I can still upload the file with the hint a virus. I am going in circles.

Sorry, what does this mean?
Yes the file was in quarantine. I had to do a repair installation of WL8. Then I could also send the file for testing. There is one virus scanner that detects the file as a virus and that is what I have. Do I have to buy a new virus scanner now so I can continue to work with WL8?
What's that?

Is this Avast?
Even free virus scanners are able to whitelist DLLs, I wouldn't bother with a paid solution that's unable to.

UPDATE: it's a bug, Dion fixed it for B7.
