The files for the strategies provided by the WLP 5.6 are stored in
C:\Program Files\Fidelity Investments\Wealth-Lab Pro 5\Data\Strategies\
However, I cannot locate the files for the strategies created by the user.
I want to back them up in another directory.

Check it out a bit more carefully. It's there since version 5.0.

The User Guide states that for Windows XP all the custom data and strategies are stored under
C:\Documents and Settings\Windows User Name\Application Data\
Fidelity Investments\WealthLabPro\1.0.0.0\Data
However, there is no subdirectory named "Application Data" under
C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows User Name>\ for any user.
I actually did a complete search for file or directory name "Fidelity Investments",
but this directory is only under C:\Program Files.

I'm sorry to necro this ancient thread. However, If you are on Windows 10 the folder location is probably more like this:
C:\Users\{your username}\AppData\Roaming\Fidelity Investments\WealthLabPro\1.0.0.0\Data\Strategies
