When running strategy ranking it generates error of not connected to the internet to update symbols. How do I prevent the error. I have disabled the on demand feature but still get the errors.

Thanks

Which data provider? Which strategy? Does it use external symbols? If yes, which data provider?

Also, you may need to be connected to the internet while doing Ranking even when on demand updates are disabled. Wealth-Lab's Ranking tool, like Strategy Monitor, is trying to request updates for providers that support updates.

I use Fidelity for data provider. I am just trying to backtest different strategies I built by using Strategy Ranking on a various data sets. I also have external symbols refrenced in the strategies but the error comes on all the symbols in the data set.

Thanks

And the external symbols - which data provider they belong to?

I use .SPX data by Fidelity- GetExternalSymbol(".SPX",true).Close.
I am not sure why a connection is necessary to rank strategies. Was able to do that in WL 4.00 with no problem. Is there any other way of ranking strategies without being connected.

Thanks

Yes, update your data before running Strategy Ranking.

(Sadly, currently this won't work for MSN and Yahoo! providers due to a live bug - they will always try to update data on each run -- that's why I was asking about external symbol's data.)
